My name is Dave Menzies and I’m an award-winning PR and media relations coach, consultant and trainer. Back in 2007, I walked away from a job at a PR agency that was squeezing money out of clients by making public relations into some incredibly complex, mysterious thing that requires a ton of cash.
Since then, I’ve run my consultancy — Innovative Public Relations — with an eye toward educating clients about PR as well as providing them with proven effective strategic messaging, PR, and media relations consulting services.
I enjoy the education thing so much I’ve started mentoring young startup companies in my home state of North Carolina, and have branched-out into offering coaching and training services to individuals, groups, businesses and nonprofits who want to learn how to do PR themselves.

In addition to mentoring startups I try to keep up as an active blogger, as well as serving as editor/publisher for Startup TechWire, reporting on business, innovation, and education for America’s vibrant startup community.
